Training Data Analysis

We are working on a model to predict performance in a backyard ultra event based on training schedule patterns. The more data we have, the more accurate our predictions can be.

If you would like to participate in this exercise and have completed a backyard ultra, we would love to hear from you. You need to have completed the race to the best of your abilities and not been impaired by injury or illness. How many loops you completed is not important, this project needs a good cross-section of data to make it as comprehensive as possible.

Your contribution is much appreciated. We will provide you with our findings in due course.

If you use a Garmin, please create a CSV file of your training data for at least 16 weeks leading up to and including your backyard race, and then send it to us using the form below.

If you have a non-Garmin device but would like to participate, please contact ian@backyardultra.coach for instructions.

How We Will Use Your Data

  • Your participation is completely voluntary and highly appreciated.
  • The data you share will be used for research purposes as part of a study that may be published in the future.
  • All data will be handled confidentially and analysed in aggregated form, without identifying individual participants.
  • If you have any questions about the project or how your data will be used, please feel free to contact ian@backyardultra.coach.
